Today it's only supposed to be a high of 28 degrees and a low around 14 degrees and windy. Takes me back when I lived in Evanston, Illinois as a child. I remember walking home from school one day because my mother forgot to pick me up. The streets were snow packed, the sidewalks icy and the wind was so bitter that it burned my face and I cried all the way home. So what am I grateful for? I guess I would have to say I'm grateful for all the challenges I've had to face in my life and made it through. Even though this example may seem very insignificant, I guess it was traumatic to a ten-year-old that I was. It shows me those things in my life that seem insurmountable at the time, I've made it through pretty much unscathed.

Okay, I love hats and being at Gabriel's for my birthday was the perfect opportunity to do so even if it is over my turban. The routine at his Mexican restaurant is they give you a sombrero to wear, sing you happy birthday in Spanish and then feed you flan. Too much fun!
